SSI’s unmanned aerial services sector consists of professional operation of drones. SSI provides quality aerial photography, aerial video production, aerial thermal imagery (used for roof data gathering), and 3D mapping capabilities. SSI has built the unmanned aerial services sector to provide opportunity for clients to obtain quality aerial imagery of their facility, land, or campus at an affordable price.

A key component to SSI’s unmanned aerial business is safety by means of following the federal guidelines provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These guidelines explicitly state that drone operators who are flying for-profit must maintain a federal authorization to fly, called a Section 333 Exemption. SSI received its Section 333 Exemption on June 30th, 2015. Once a business obtains this exemption, they must follow the set regulations that involve, but are not limited to, flying below 400ft ceiling, pre-flight communication with local airports, obtaining permission from landowner, and most importantly, having at least a private pilot operating the system. SSI has a pool of excellent pilots that it sourced locally from EKU Aviation! SSI is strong advocate for following these regulations as safe operations is the key to the growth of the industry.

Please contact SSI’s unmanned aerial services if you are interested in having SSI fly your facility or event. SSI is also available for consultation on obtaining Section 333 Exemption for commercial entities, obtaining COA for public entities, and for sales of drones for your personal flying needs.
